Luis Rubiales Sends FIFA A Surprising Video Of Hermoso Joking About The Controversial Kiss
Luis Rubiales the president of the RFEF (the Spanish Football Federation) has sent a surprising video to the world’s football governing body FIFA. The video seems to show Jenni Hermoso the so-called victim in the controversial kiss at the world Cup, joking about the kiss with her team mates.
Remember that the female player was caught and kissed before the camera during the celebration of Spain’s victory over England at the World Cup finals. She had later announced she did not enjoy the kiss, calling it forced and unexpected. Rubiales is still claiming the kiss was consensual.
The football official has been given a ninety days suspension by FIFA following the incident, and an interim president is in his place. Investigations continue, while about eighty-one Spanish players have resigned from the Spanish team till the president get sacked or resigns.
The respected Spaniard became the football president in 2018 and is facing charges of sexual abuse and professional misconduct.
In the video sent by Luis Rubiales in his ongoing attempt to defend himself and retain his office, Jenni Hermoso is seen talking to her team mates about the kiss in a joke-ful mood.
‘My Goodness,’ she says. ‘Haven’t you seen it [the kiss]? He [Rubiales] comes over all enthusiastic and hugs me like this’ [holds up her hands near her head].
Later in the video, Luis Rubiales is videoed entering the team bus, and the the team were chanting the word ‘beso’ [kiss in Spanish.]
Rubiales’ mother has appealed to Jenni Hermoso, telling her to stick with the first account she had given about what transpired between her and the football president before the kiss.
Hermoso formerly admitted the kiss was consensual, but then suddenly said the opposite later. In the player’s second statement, she accused the RFEF of forcing her to say it was consensual. This nearly made RFEF sue her, and Rubiales has recently threatened to do the same in a now-deleted post.
FIFA has since disallowed the organization from contacting the player. Both national and international officials keep digging for the truth.
