Artur Beterbiev’s bizarre explanation for knockout ability: ‘I studied in college in Moscow’
Only one boxing champion has knocked out all his opponents before the final round: Artur Beterbiev. Now he has given a bizarre reason to explain how he came to obtain such an ability, saying it was because he schooled at a Moscow university.
After beating Callum Smith in the same fashion during the weekend, 39-year old Beterbiev was asked why he was becoming better instead of worse.
The world light heavyweight champion answered as follows:
‘I studied in college in Moscow, very good discipline I take from them there. They sleep at 10, wake up at six, there is training, learning, I take a lot from this college.
‘I think it’s from there. When you sleep well, you eat good, you train, I think these things help, I don’t drink, only water.’
This was not the kind of reply many people were waiting to hear, but that was what they got.
