Bizarre Announcement: Jake Paul to fight Mike Tyson
YouTuber turned pro boxer, Jake Paul, is preparing to fight legendary Mike Tyson in the ring, according to a serious-but-bizarre announcement.
27-year-old Paul who is currently considered a formidable boxing opponent will fight 57-year-old Tyson at the AT&T Stadium, Texas, on July 20.
Though it is still veiled whether it would be a professional bout or an exhibition match, both pugilists have been seen facing off.
In an X post published recently by Paul, the millennial wrote the following:
‘Promotion promotion promotion if I’m being honest it don’t need that. The biggest fight of the 21st century, in the biggest NFL stadium in the US, broadcast live, on the biggest streaming platform in the world, that’s the MVP way.
‘Whether you’re tuning in on Netflix or showing out in person, whether you’re team Paul or team Tyson, or whether you’re a lifelong boxing fan or watching your first fight, you’re not going to want to miss this event.
‘I could not be more excited to make this amazing fight available to all Netflix subscribers alongside the hardest hitter of all time, Mike Tyson, on Saturday, July 20th.
‘My sights are set on becoming a world champion, and now I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion of the world, the baddest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time. Time to put Iron Mike to sleep.’
Though Mike Tyson is getting old and would likely lose to the young boxer, fans around the world would converge to watch the legend walk the squared ring once more. Whether Tyson’s decision to face the young man was a wise one is left to private views.
One of the boxers who consider Tyson the best there ever was, Francis Ngannou, prepares to fight soon. It seems Mike Tyson will concentrate on personal training after helping to ready the younger talent for a tough task.
Ngannou will fight former lineal heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua on Friday, March 8, at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
A very younger boxer Ryan Garcia famously gave the following prediction ahead of the Ngannou-Joshua bout:
‘Hard to go against Ngannou due to his ability to surprise my self and everyone else especially in that fury fight that being said, Joshua in 4 or 8.’
Many support Ngannou, however.
