Army Rescues Two Kidnapped Victims In Ondo
Two abducted people in the state were rescued by the Nigerian Army, 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena Barracks, Ondo State.
The victims, 50-year-old driver Aremo Abiodun and 50-year-old trader Agnes Afogun have both been rescued at Ugbe Akoko.
The victims traveled from Ugbe to Simerin Village for a business transaction when the kidnappers abducted them as waylaid.
Until they were released the gunmen had requested an amount of N30 m from Mrs. Afogun ‘s husband.
Speaking about their rights, Mr. Ayorinde Omojokun, Acting Assistant Director of Ondo State ‘s Army for Public Relations, told SaharaReporters that they were monitoring the hoodlums’ position with the help of the IGP-IRT team in the Iboropa forest.
He explained that the two victims were rescued from the kidnappers’ den and no ransoms were paid for their release.
Omojokun added that a Dane pistol and machetes had been recovered from the hoodlums, who had taken to their heels after discovering that security was very tight.
