Black Panther to premiere in Lagos, Nigeria.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a movie from Marvel Studios, will have its Lagos premiere before going on general distribution on November 11.
The Walt Disney Company announced that the action film’s world premiere would take place in Nigeria in collaboration with the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) and FilmOne Entertainment.
Moses Babatope and Kene Okwuosa, co-founders of FilmOne Entertainment and the official distributors of the film in English-speaking West African countries, expressed happiness with the accomplishment in a statement.
For us and the whole FilmOne team, helping to bring Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to West Africa is a proud accomplishment and a milestone that will be remembered for a very long time. We are eager to collaborate with The Walt Disney Company to give a spectacular African premiere and are entirely dedicated to doing so, even as we direct all of our efforts on achieving a historic box office success.
“This is huge for the continent of Africa as it symbolises to us further bridging the gaps between the global film industries,” she said.
Continuing Ude said: “We are excited and proud to be a part of the premiere of this milestone film here in Africa. We couldn’t be more excited to be bringing Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to Lagos this November,” said Christine Service, Senior Vice President and General Manager for The Walt Disney Company Africa. “Working closely with our long-term distribution partners FilmOne and this association with AFRIFF, we are anticipating a wonderful celebration with Nigeria’s cinema-goers and Black Panther fans.”
