Raphinha is now officially a Barcelona player.
After a protracted battle with Chelsea, Catalan giants have prevailed in acquiring the services of 25-year-old Brazilian international Raphinha from Leeds for a record sum of 68 million euros.
Raphinha was instrumental in making his move to Barcelona a reality because it had always been his desire to represent the mighty Catalan club.
Before being signed by Leeds on October 5, 2020, he played for Rennes, where he scored eight goals and seven assists during his stint club.
He signed a four-year contract with Leeds United for an unknown sum, which is thought to be around £17 million, or roughly €20 million.
The Brazilian freely acknowledged that playing for the Catalan giants has always been his goal as he prepared to accept a five-year contract at Camp Nou.
After signing with Barcelona, the brilliant and promising young star was given his first interview, and he described it as “a dream come true for me, not just for me, but also for my friends and family.” Since I was a child, they have spotted me playing. They were aware that coming here was a dream of mine. I can only do my best today to help Barcelona remain what it has always been.
