“Respect Afrobeat” Bella Shmurda addresses Wizkid and Burna Boy’s take on the Afrobeat genre

Nigerian Afrobeat Gem, Bella Shmurda has expressed his displeasure with Wizkid and Burna Boy’s recent opinion on the Afrobeat genre.

In the last few days, Burna Boy and Wizkid denounced the Afrobeat genre, stretching to Wizkid’s brutal approach to the genre which sparked a heated reaction among fans.

The Nigerian Gem cautioned his fans to stop addressing him as an Afrobeat singer while further describing that he doesn’t want to be boxed into one genre. He also demeaned the worth of Afrobeat with more cruel words.

Reacting to this, Bella Shmurda confessed to having been hurt by their approach so far and has been silent for a long time because he respects them.

However, the ‘Loner’ crooner expressed that they should respect Afrobeat because it’s the key toll of triumph in Nigeria as youth has been able to earn a living with it.

Nigerians couldn’t hold their nerves and reacted massively via all the social media platforms.
