Singer Chris Martin and actress Dakota Johnson break up controversy
Reports have surfaced indicating that the relationship between Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson has ended.
According to a report in the Daily Mail on Friday, August 16, the lead singer of Coldplay, who is 47 years old, and the 34-year-old actress have called off their engagement after being together for seven years.
A source allegedly told the outlet that the former couple “have now accepted the relationship is over and it’s best to move on.”
According to a report from THE INDEPENDENT, recent rumours about Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson calling off their engagement have been discredited. Emerging reports have described the breakup rumours as false and clarified that the couple has not ended their engagement despite previous claims suggesting otherwise.
A spokesperson for Johnson denied the report, stating to THE INDEPENDENT that the rumours were completely false. “The reports are not true. They are happily together,” the representative said.
Recently, the famous actress known for her role in Madame Web was seen without her stunning emerald engagement ring as she took her dog for a walk in the beautiful city of Malibu, California, as reported by the Daily Mail. Also, note that she hasn’t made any public appearances at Martin’s shows during the European leg of his band’s “Music of the Spheres” tour.
Although the couple did not make a public announcement about their engagement, there has been speculation due to the fact that Johnson has been frequently seen wearing the same emerald ring since 2020.
Before their relationship, Chris Martin was married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow. The former couple tied the knot in 2003 and their marriage lasted until 2016. During their time together, they welcomed two children: a 20-year-old daughter named Apple and an 18-year-old son named Moses.
Over time, Johnson has openly discussed her experiences and feelings about her relationship with Martin’s children and his ex-wife. In March, during an interview with Bustle, she was asked about her role as a stepmother, and she expressed her affection and admiration for Apple and Moses.
“I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart,” she said.
As of this report, the couple has not issued an official statement addressing the controversy.
