See what the Governor of Oyo has to say about the horrifying Ibadan explosion
The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has reacted to the heated explosion that transpired in Ibadan on 16th January 2024.
Recall that Val9janews.com reported earlier that a mass number of undisclosed deaths and injuries emerged after an explosive wrecked a vast space in Ibandan.

It caused a lot of controversies following how affected civilians raged over the outcome and mounted pressure on the government.
Oyo Government did portray calmness but it didn’t quite quench the anger of the victims. Several clips that went viral on the Internet; even proved how horrible the outcome was.
The Governor of Oyo State in a verified statement confirmed that the explosive was quite sparked by explosive devices stored by illegal miners.
The pained Governor outlined that the investigation has kickstarted and is still active to date as they are willing to put In check what fully transpired to hold trespassers accountable for their crimes.
He added that the explosion recorded just 2 deaths and 77 injured civilians.
He also updated that the explosion occurred at about 7:44 PM on Tuesday in Bodija, Ibadan.
FFinalsing his utterances, he disclosed that he had visited the scene and had deployed his condolences to the affected civilians.
His words:
“We have already deployed first responders and all relevant agencies within Oyo State to carry out comprehensive search and rescue operations. These operations will continue throughout the night.
“Earth moving equipment, ambulances, emergency lights, and security were deployed to the scene of the incident. The wounded and injured are being treated and moved to public and private hospitals within Ibadan.
“Medical personnel are on standby at these hospitals to provide all needed assistance to the injured. We have visited UCH to see some of those injured during the incident.
“In total, we have 77 injured victims so far, most of whom were treated and discharged and 2 fatalities. May their souls rest in peace and may God give their loved ones the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
Some Nigerians are in doubt as they protest that he lied about the exact number of death rates reported sparking heavy reactions among themselves.
