Jon Anik excited about female fighter Kayla Harrison
Fight commentator Jon Anik is excited about the UFC’s new female fighter, Kayla Harrison.
Harrison who formerly stayed with Professional Fighters League (PFL) joined the UFC recently to the surprise of most, and is expected to fight soon.
Anik showed his happiness at the thought of having such a great fighter in the promotion, and revealed he would be pleased to commentate on the day of her fight.
Formerly, Harrison was looking to fight Bellator’s female featherweight champion Cris Cyborg. Her reason for joining the UFC instead of pushing for the bout might be a desire to compete on a higher platform.
Now Harrison is going to meet UFC’s women’s former bantamweight champion at the UFC 300. That was why Anik made the following statement while speaking to MMA Junkie:
‘I’m just so inspired by her story as a parent. And, you know, her adopting her niece and nephew and mothering those children the way that she has, right?
‘Adding to the base that is Kayla Harrison professionally, athletically, and otherwise, she’s just a super human, super, super human being, and it’s always an honor when you have one of these high-level combat sports athletes, Hall-of-Famer in their own right, high-level specialists coming into the UFC.’
Harrison has won two Olympic medals, and is a former Judoka.
