Oshoala claims record fifth CAF best award

Asisat Lamina Oshoala of the Super Falcons, who was born on 21st January 1994, won a record-breaking fifth trophy and has been named the greatest female footballer on the continent.

The Barcelona attacker has surpassed her countrywoman Perpetua Nkwocha to become the first player in history to win the CAF African Women’s Player of the Year award a record five times.
The Falcons star hailed her teammates in her speech and said that the team’s fortitude in defeating Morocco on Monday, while playing with two fewer players, was admirable.
Asisat Lamina Oshoala now plays for FC Barcelona after having previously played for Liverpool (2015–2016), Arsenal (2016–2017), and Dalian Quanjian (2017–2019).
