A UK doctor was charged with conspiring with Ekweremadu regarding a “kidney harvest.”

A doctor from London has joined Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice, in the courtroom in the United Kingdom (UK) over an alleged plot to remove a homeless Nigerian’s kidney.

Southeast London resident Obinna Obeta, of Hillbeck Close, Southwark, made an appearance at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on charges of conspiring with the Ekweremadus to set up Ukpo Nwamini David’s trip from Nigeria to the UK.

Obeta is also accused of conspiring with the former Deputy Senate President to arrange or enable David’s travel in order to take advantage of him by harvesting his organs.

According to the prosecution, the Ekweremadus intended to remove David’s kidney and transfer it to their daughter.

The couple, who were detained on arrival from Turkey on June 21 at Heathrow Airport, appeared today for a bail hearing at the Old Bailey.

The pair asserts there was no exploitation and denies any misconduct or criminal plot.
