Barcelona has finally completed the signing of Chelsea target, Koundé from Sevilla

Jules Koundé, a 23-year-old French center-back, has reached an “understanding in principle” to join Spanish powerhouse Barcelona on a permanent basis with Sevilla. The deal is still subject to a medical before it can be finalized.

Koundé’s acquisition follows a protracted bidding conflict between Barça and Chelsea, who last Thursday negotiated a deal with Sevilla for more than €60 million but were never given the go-ahead to finalize the transfer.

The French international provides a significant upgrade to Barça’s defense and should team up well with Ronald Araujo at center back as the Blaugrana continue to add significant depth to Xavi Hernández’s team in front of what might be a successful season
