Will Smith apologises for slapping Chris Rock
Will Smith has apologized once more for slapping comedian Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.
After the event occurred on live television in March, the actor apologized again on his Instagram page on Friday.
Rock received a stage slap from Smith after he made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett, while presenting an award.
Pinkett’s shaved head, which is the result of the hair loss condition alopecia, was the target of the comic.
Smith was given a 10-year Oscars ban by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) in response to the event.
Family members of Rock also reacted negatively to the incident by openly criticizing Smith.
The actor apologized to Rock’s family on behalf of everyone else, adding he was unaware of “how many people felt injured in that moment.”
“There is no part of me that believes that was the appropriate course of action at that time. I feel a great deal of regret, and I’m trying not to feel embarrassed of myself, he said.
