Vice President of Argentina escapes an attempted murder.
Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, vice president of Argentina, received a threat outside her Buenos Aires residence, but she was unharmed and no guns were fired.
Alberto Fernandez, the president of Argentina, said in a speech broadcast on television: “A man put a gun at her head and fired the trigger. Due to an undetermined reason, the gun did not discharge, and Cristina is still alive.
The vice president and former president is on trial for corruption; if found guilty, she could receive a 12-year term and be barred from holding public office as a result of contracts issued by the government in the early 2000s.
At the time of the attempted assassination, hundreds of fans had gathered in front of her Buenos Aires residence.
