Following her victory over Rishi Sunak in the Tory leadership race, Liz Truss has been elected as the new prime minister of the United Kingdom.

The current UK Foreign Secretary, Truss, received 81,326 votes to Sunak’s 60,399 votes.
The electoral umpire reported that 82.6% of eligible voters participated.
Truss will take office as prime minister on Tuesday after visiting Scotland’s Balmoral to meet the monarch.
She is anticipated to experience immediate pressure to present a strategy to address the rapidly rising cost of energy.
It is said that she is thinking of freezing her energy costs.
