The Pastor, identified as Pastor Prosper Igboke, is said to have spent so much on the said lady and even trained her through tertiary institution.

He was based in Nnewi, Anambra State where he reportedly threw himself off a two-storey building, hitting hard on the floor and consequently loosing his life.

“Pastor Igboke jumped down from the two-storey building and died instantly,” a source in the area said.

While the name of the Pastors’ church has been kept away from public space, he is said to have been engaged with a Pentecostal Church in Nnewi, Anambra State.

A relative of the deceased who spoke to journalists on Saturday, said the 30-year-old man from Leru community in Umunneochi Local Government Area, Abia State, had trained his lover in the university, after which she declined his marriage proposal.

He said, “The incident happened last month. The man (Igboke) was 30 years old at the time of his death. His girlfriend, whom he intended to marry disappointed him after seeing her through the university.

“He jumped down from a two-storey building and died. I am surprised that a man of this age and a pastor can do this.”

According to their village tradition, the relative said he was buried in a forest for committing “sacrilege”.

“He was eventually buried on Friday in a bush in his community,” the source added.

However, when contacted, the state police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the incident was not brought before the police command.

“There is no information like that before me, and I want to also thank you for the privileged information. I will escalate this to the police manager within the area for necessary action, please,” Ikenga added.

In another story, two women in Anambra State have been brought before the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka for forcefully taking into custody, two underage children of a widow, Sharon Nwosu.

The suspects, identified as Felicia Nwosu and Chinenye Nwosu, from Ndiowu, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State are said to be mother-in-law and sister-in-law of the widow.

The culprits reportedly took the widow’s children against her will after her husband’s death.

They are also accusing her of killing her deceased husband.

Speaking to journalists Saturday, a relative of the deceased said they were arrested after the widow complained to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare on Friday.

Sharon hails from Enubom Ndiowu, Orumba Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Narrating her ordeal, the widow said trouble started between her and her in-laws after she refused to hand over her late husband’s laptop and telephone to the junior brother, who demanded to take possession of the said properties.

She said, “After forcefully taking custody of my two children and accusing me of killing my husband, my mother-in-law and sister-in-law asked me to hand over my late husband’s laptop and telephone to his junior brother who demanded to take possession of the said properties.

“I was shocked that such a request was made a few days after my late husband’s demise. They asked me to hand over the laptop so that the junior brother could take over the contract my late husband who was an architect, had just secured warning me not to tell anyone.

“I was still dealing with her husband’s demise only to find out that my mother had also died the same day I lost my husband.

“The worst of the situation was days before they took my children, they consistently told my kids that, I was responsible for their father’s death and they broke into my room after my husband’s funeral to cart away all the money sympathisers gave to me.”

Responding, the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, expressed her displeasure over the development and assured the widow of recovering her children from her in-laws.

Obinabo, therefore called on everyone to always give widows breathing space to mourn their loved ones instead of creating more problems for them.

The alleged culprits were later served a letter mandating them to appear before the ministry on Tuesday with all the parties involved in the case for further investigation.
