Adesanya vs Strickland: Several Superstars Give Knowledgeable Predictions
Along with UFC betting experts predicting the result of the match between Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland, some stars of the octagon have released predictions on what they thought was going to happen to either of both fighters. The bout is scheduled to hold at Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney, Australia.
Nigerian-born, New Zealand Champion, Israel Adesanya is set to begin the second defense of his Middleweight title.
The first defense brought about five win streaks that ended in a loss in 2022 to rival, Alex Pereira. Then Adesanya came back to knock him out at UFC 287 at the FTX Arena in Miami, Florida, United States of America. This happened in April.
Given that most of the superstar’s matches in the octagon have been against the same people, the MMA star wants to meet a new face. Only two from his weight class have never danced around the octagon with him: Sean Strickland and the South African, Dricus Du Plessis.
Since Du Plessis is still on the path to total recovery rom his last fight, he is not in shape to fight Adesanya in the UFC 293. That was how the only next option became bad-mouthed Sean Strickland.
Superstars that have predicted include Sean O’Malley, Jon Jones and Strickland’s rival, Nassourdine Imanov.
Sean O’Malley:
Irishman O’Malley said, ‘It drives me crazy when people start talking about Izzy’s last performances, how they’re ‘not entertaining.’ He’s been defending the belt, he’s been an active champion, he’s fighting the number one guys, he’s fighting the next guys in line, and sometimes fights aren’t the most fun, but he’s still continuing to put on performances for the fans.
A lot of people share that second view.
Nassourdine Imanov:
Frenchman Nassourdine Imanov still remembers his loss to Strickland and has been hoping for a rematch. He hopes he would lose to Adesanya.
His prediction was, ‘I don’t think it’s going to be very easy for him [Israel]. I think it’s going to be a really complicated fight. What I will say is that Strickland is a really annoying guy to fight against.
‘And the longer the fight goes, if it goes five rounds, it could actually work to Strickland’s favor. However, I don’t think he’s going to win. I think he’s going to come back down the rankings, and I think I’m going to get my shot at a rematch in the future.’
Jon Jones:
American UFC superstar Jon Jones has given his prediction on the coming contest.
Jones’ opinion was, ‘Izzy could beat Strickland in a boxing match if he had to. I think he’s more calculated, and I think his power is a few steps up about Strickland as well.’
The time is 03:00 on Sunday, 30th September.
It would be aired on ESPN.
