Napoli TikTok Row: Victor Osimhen gives team mates the cold shoulder

The plot thickens at Italy, following Napoli’s release of several unfriendly videos about their talented Nigerian player, Victor Osimhen. In the wake of this blunder, how Osimhen treated fellow players at the hotel when he arrived for Napoli’s contest with Udinese, which was caught on video, was anything but courteous.

Though Napoli has since deleted the dirty videos they posted about Osimhen, the only reply he gave concerning the clips was the removal of everything on his Instagram wall that promotes Napoli. Both his mentions of the club and pictures concerned with it are currently gone.

In the video, Victor Osimhen ignored two players that wanted to greet him, and made his way to the door. Their names were Piotr Zielinski and Diego Demme.

One might wonder whether Napoli will release an official apology to Victor Osimhen.

Roberto Calenda, Victor Osimhen’s agent recently condemned the decision of Napoli to troll one of their own players, saying that Osimhen reserves ‘the right to take legal action’. Whether Victor Osimhen’s team are preparing to sue Napoli is presently unknown, but the player’s action at the hotel when he arrived not very long ago could mean he was angry at the club and, at least, two of his team mates.

Last season, Victor Osimhen’s 31 goals catapulted Napoli to glory in Serie A, and even played a part in his nomination for this year’s Ballon d’Or award. The player is one of the highest earners at Napoli, being the club’s hitman on the pitch.

All things turned sour between him and Napoli after the club even shared videos some describe as ‘racially insensitive’, because of the penalty he lost in the match with Bologna. Neither Napoli nor Bologna succeeded to score a goal in that match.

Apart from causing Napoli the loss of one point through the unfortunate penalty kick, he also made them lose two points because of the draw. Four minutes toward the final whistle, coach Rudi Garcia thought it was okay to replace Victor Osimhen with another player, which he did to the Victor Osimhen’s vocalised displeasure. Victor Osimhen has apologised for his ‘rant’ against the coach, therefore the management at Napoli has decided not to fine him.

But it would be hard for a formal apology by Napoli to settle the TikTok row, since the club’s management still seem to have found no problem with the unfortunate videos till Roberto Calenda threatened to sue the club.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly waiting for January to make a bid for the player. Victor Osimhen was once expected to leave for Saudi’s SPL, but he decided to play for a club that would pay him less than Saudi Arabians would pay him. Many fans are presently saying he made a bad choice, with some saying that Napoli has betrayed him.

Unless a miracle takes place at Napoli, their partnership with Victor Osimhen is near its end.
