Lagos police command declares man wanted for murder
Following the murder of a 21-year-old lady Augusta Onuwabhagbe Osedion, the Lagos State Police Command has declared a suspect, Benjamin Best Nnanyereugo wanted.
This is according to a statement signed by the Lagos police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, and shared on the command’s X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Osedion who was a girlfriend to her killer, Nnanyereugo otherwise known as Killaboigram on social media platform, Instagram.
The statement also revealed that the deceased was murdered after a heated argument ensued between her and her boyfriend.
Nnanyereugo who reportedly stabbed her to death however, fled the scene after commiting the crime and is still in the wild.
Best was described to be “approximately 5’9 ft tall and hails from Abia State”.
He said, “The Lagos State Police Command hereby declares wanted Benjamin Best Nnanyereugo. Nnanyereugo is suspected of having murdered his girlfriend, 21-year-old Augusta Onuwabhagbe Osedion, on July 13, 2023, in his Oral Estate, Ajah home. Following the exhaustion of all available options to bring him in, he is declared wanted.
“The suspect is 26 years old, approximately 5’9 ft tall, and hails from Abia State. He is dark in complexion and speaks English, Igbo, and pidgin English fluently.”
Meanwhile, Benjamin Best also known as Killaboigram, had in July 2023, reportedly taken to social media to confess to murdering his girlfriend who is simply identified on Instagram as Austa_XXO.
Meanwhile, a 14-year-old boy has been arrested by men of a vigilante group in Rivers State for possession of arms and robbery.
The 14-year-old boy was reportedly arrested with a pistol while robbing residents of Ikwerre Road in the Mile 1 axis of Diobu in Port Harcourt.
According to the Commander of the vigilante group known as Diobu Security Service, Prince Amatari who spoke to newsmen in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, the teenager whose name has not been made public, allegedly led a three-man criminal during the operation on Sunday night.
Amatari explained that the boy’s arrest followed a distress call put across by residents of the area to the vigilante that some miscreants were dispossessing them of cash and other valuables along Ikwerre Street by Emenike when his men swooped on them.
He further disclosed that on sighting them, two of the criminals fled the scene, but luck ran out for the 14-year-old who was nabbed by men of the vigilante group.
The vigilante Commander said, “If a boy of 14 years can have the mind to rob residents with a pistol it tells you how the society is now
“The victims said their money, clothes and mobile phones were collected by the criminals. I spoke with the suspect and he said it was hunger that pushed him into crime.
“Then I asked him at age 14 you are not talking about hunger, are you not supposed to be in school?
“He now said he doesn’t have money to train himself in school and that is why he joined an armed robbery gang.”
Amatari added that the suspect was later handed over to the Mile 1 Police Station in Port Harcourt, the state Capital.
