Brussels Shooting: suspected African Jihadist who killed two Swedish football fans shot dead by police

The Belgian police reported that they killed the man suspected of killing two Swedish fans on Monday night.

The suspected attacker, who was called Abdesalem, is allegedly a Tunisian man who has been denied asylum by Belgium in 2020. He arrived at Boulevard d’Ypres in a scooter, according to videos posted online, and opened fire, killing two and driving away. He would later make a video and post it on Facebook, claiming he just killed people for Allah, his god.

Before his untimely death by being shot in the chest by the Belgian police, the man admitted in the viral video that he belonged to the IS (Islamic State) and had wounded another man during the shooting. All his victims were reportedly male sexagenarians and septuagenarians in Swedish jerseys.

Belgian authorities agree that the man was illegally in Belgium after his request for asylum was denied and that the attack was targeted at Swedish citizens.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson reacted to the incident by calling for’stricter border controls’ : ‘This is a time for more security; we can’t be naive. These terrorists want to scare us into obedience and silence. That will not happen.’

The terror attack took place during a FIFA World Cup qualifier match between Belgium and Sweden, but only Swedish fans were targeted. In the wake of the terror shooting, more than 85,000 fans were shut in at the stadium and denied exit until the police thought it was safe. Since the horrible incident took place before the beginning of the second half, the match was delayed and later cancelled.

‘The circumstances of the shooting are still unclear,’ was what many official reports replied at the time, ignoring the very word of Abdesalem that he just wasted three infidels.

French authorities had increased security at their border just after the killings, and fear was in the air as more trouble was expected.
