Jarrell Miller tested thrice in one week for dope
American boxer Jarrell Miller confessed he was recently tested thrice in one week for illegal drugs ahead of his bout with Britain’s Daniel Dubois.
The boxer failed two doping tests in the past. The first stalled his title race, while the second put him out of business for two years.
Now it seems that VADA, an anti-doping agency, have given ‘Big Baby’ a hard week due to his past.
Miller said to Boxing News, ‘VADA hit me three times in one week, then it was five different tests in seven or eight days. It’s part of the business.
‘When you’re new to the testing it’s a lot of grey areas, but once I understood how to go about doing things and who to talk to and the chain of command, you just have to have a good lawyer and doctor notes and all this.
‘There is a lot of BS to it, so if you don’t understand it you can cause problems.’
After missing his opportunity to become a unified heavyweight champion, the fighter is making his way back to the spotlight through a fight contract with Daniel Dubois. Dubois himself is coming from a controversial loss to the WBA, WBO, and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksander Usyk.
There are worries that Miller is so dependent on drugs that he would try to use them before fighting Dubois.
Speaking recently, Barry McGuigan stated that Miller should not be accepted among professional boxers because of both his drug use and bad character. However, some who have the power to remove him think differently.
Many would wish that instead of testing Miller for some time and leaving him alone, his samples should also be collected just before his bout with Dubois on December 23.
Among those to fight at the event are former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, and former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
