Tomiyasu Takehiro to travel for Asian Cup
Japan has called up Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu ahead of the Asian Cup contest at Qatar. The player’s debut for his team happened back in 2018.
Tomiyasu seems needful to the Blue Samurais, and has scored only one goal in his thirty-seven appearances for the team.
He might be on the pitch during Japan’s friendly with Jordan on January 9. Also, the Blue Samurais will face the following teams during the Asian Cup tournament:
Vietnam on January 14 in Doha, Iran on January 19, and Indonesia on January 24.
Naturally Japan would like to lift the trophy again, having done so more times than other Asian countries. It’s been more than twelve years since the Blue Samurais lifted the trophy last.
