Floyd Mayweather on what makes a real boxing star
Famous Floyd Mayweather shared his opinion recently on what makes one a real boxing star.
Mayweather, also called Pretty Boy, had fifty bouts during his professional boxing career and lost none of them.
He no more participtes in professional fights as a boxer, but trains fighters, runs a promotion company, and takes part in exhibition bouts.
Speaking to InsideFighting recently, the icon who invented the Philly Shell system of defense in boxing said what he thinks makes a boxer a real star.
‘There are some heavy hitters in the game right now but there’s only really three,’ he said. ‘Canelo, Ryan and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis.
‘A lot of time people think well I got a belt. I’m a star. I got two belts. In today’s time, they think belts and a few million dollars makes you a star.
‘But being articulate makes you a star.
‘Knowing when to speak and when not to speak. Everything plays a role in making you a household name, and I know this.
‘That’s why they still talking about me. It’s been almost 30 years and the Mayweather name is always being brought up.’
