Two former combat sports champions, Francis Ngannou and Anthony Joshua, will have a professional boxing match on March 9.

The venue of the competition is Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn reacted as follows on X after the deal was signed:

‘Tonight we confirm it’s a Done Deal! @anthonyjoshua v @francis_ngannou collide on a huge night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – press conference Jan 15 in London with full details dropping soon!#JoshuaNgannou @Turki_alalshikh @MatchroomBoxing @Queensberry #RiyadhSeason 🇸🇦.’

The bout will be Francis Ngannou’s second professional boxing match, while Anthony Joshua who now has three consecutive wins would be looking for the fourth. Joshua has lost no match since after losing his lineal heavyweight title to Oleksander Usyk.

The underdog in the coming match seems to be Anthony Joshua. This is because many fans are calling the match ‘a done deal’ in the sense that Ngannou looks tougher than Joshua.

Pictures of the duo’s torsos are spreading all over the internet and are being commented on by high-profile figures.

However, Joshua will be entering the ring with years of experience from fighting with the best, spurred by desire for a heavyweight title.

The Brit recently beat Swedish southpaw Otto Wallin in five rounds to collect his third consecutive victory, after saying that his present goal is to win another heavyweight title.

Ngannou’s last pro boxing bout ended in a controversial defeat for the Cameroonian when the judges granted Tyson Fury a surprising split-decision victory.

A number of fans think Anthony Joshua’s new trainer Ben Davison could help the Nigerian-born fighter achieve another fantastic victory. Maybe they assumed that Joshua’s easy victory over Wallin showed what the coach could do.

Several people are saying that boxing’s second disgrace could be around the corner. They still remember that Ngannou knocked Fury down in the third round of their contest while still being a debutant.

They might be surprised.
