Eddie Hearn gives vital update on Conor Benn
Matchroom Sports’ Eddie Hearn gave update on Conor Benn versus Gervonta Davis, and concerning Benn’s appeal to the British Boxing Board of Control.
Speaking to Pro Boxing Fans recently, Hearn said the following about efforts to actualize Benn versus Davis when asked whether the latter accepted Benn’s offer:
‘No, not yet. We’ll see where that goes. There’s a lot of movement on Conor Benn. There are probably five fights for Conor Benn that are approaching contractual stage.
‘We had the hearing last week, in a couple of weeks that will all be resolved, then we’ll see where we’re going to fight next, I want to see him fight in the UK next, and it’s going to be a massive fight.’
However, a fight could be cooking, according to what Hearn said in the same conversation.
‘Not major talks, but Danny Garcia reached out to our team to talk to me direct, and I’ll be talking to him this week.
‘I love the fight with Danny Garcia, USA or UK, there are four or five names and he’s definitely in the mix.’
Whatever happens next might depend on Davis and the BBBofC.
