Henry Cejudo reacts after UFC CEO Dana White denied him retirement

UFC fighter Henry Cejudo spoke his mind after Dana White refused to let him retire.

Following a match at UFC 298, fans expected Cejudo who lost to Merab Dvalishvili to make a statement showing he was hanging the gloves, but White would not allow him to use the microphone.

Cejudo had signalled pre-match that he was going to retire just after that bout, but he could not.

In a post-match statement White made, the CEO claimed that allowing the retirement to happen just after Cejudo’s loss to Dvalishvili would affect the look of the victory.

Now Cejudo has revealed his own opinion about the decision. He said the following in a YouTube video:

‘Was Dana White right when he said “He left behind three of his prime years”? Yeah, I’ll give it to him.

‘Recognizing it now the way I did feel Saturday, the way I planned it, you start to psychologically go ‘Damn, are these dudes right?’. I couldn’t have it any other way.

‘If I could change everything, I probably wouldn’t have came back. But now that I came back, I have to s*** where I sleep. And for some reason, I can’t go out like that.’

Maybe there is a fight or two Cejudo before the fighter retires, but the fact is that he will probably retire soon.
