Cody Brundage attacks Sean Strickland’s treatment of Ian Garry’s marriage

UFC middleweight contender Cody Brundage showed dislike for how ex- middleweight champion Sean Strickland orally attacked Ian Garry’s marriage.

Before his defeat and disgraceful dethronement, Sean Strickland said harsh and shameful things about UFC superstar Ian Garry’s wife Layla.

Though Strickland later cried at an interview when his childhood experiences were used against him in a trash talk, Brundage believed that Strickland was very wrong to call Garry’s wife a predator.

In his statement to MMA News, Brundage said:

‘MMA is like a circus. It’s unbelievable. It’s a total freak show.

‘In one breath, you’re saying, “Don’t come at me about my family! You can’t talk about a man’s wife, you can’t talk about a man’s past,” and things like that.

‘And then in your next breath, you’re telling Ian Garry he’s a “cuck” and his wife is a “predator.” It just doesn’t make sense, bro. And to me, it’s disgusting. I’m glad that hasn’t happened to me. I would not respond the same way some of these other people do.

‘Not that MMA hasn’t been like this before, but that (UFC 296) is kind of where it reached a peak of just disgusting comments. It was a hard one to be a fan.

‘It’s gross, man. We fight, we hurt each other physically. You don’t need to do all the extra sh*t… How are you telling people how to live their life and what relationships they need to have.

‘At the end of the day, what you’re good at is punching people in the face… Other than that, what is your expertise to tell people, “This is how you should be a dad,” you don’t have kids? “This is how you should be a husband,” you don’t have a wife? So don’t tell people how to live their life.’
