Unai Emery following Aston Villa’s 2–3 win: ‘We can come back’
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery said his team can come back following their victory over Luton during an away Premier League match.
The Villa beat the Hatters 2–3 in the ongoing hot race to grab three useful points.
Speaking post-match, Emery said:
‘I feel like, with us, our mentality has really changed.
‘We didn’t let it faze us. I think when they scored their second goal, you can see the boss on the side trying to calm us down and I’m trying to do the same.
‘I think we believe in ourselves as a squad that no matter the result, we can come back.
‘And that’s what we did here. We showed fight, we showed togetherness and we got the three points in the end.’
Player Ezri Konsa later said the following to VillaTV:
‘Massive win. It was a really tough game, especially in the second half.
‘I felt in the first half we dominated the game, created a lot of chances, got the two goals.
‘We’ve seen what they’ve done to teams here previously and if you give away that many set-pieces like we did in the second half, then they were bound to create some chances and they scored two from it.
‘But I think the main thing is we got the three points and we move on to next week.’
Aston Villa is now number 4 on the Premier League table by 55 points.
