Strickland who spoke how many would term ‘careless’ during his short reign at UFC’s 185 pounds formerly beat Nigeria’s Israel Adesanya to become king.

However, it would be safe to say that his manner of speaking secured him enemies both within the UFC superstars and among global fans.

Following a five-round bout at Toronto during UFC 297, Strickland was painfully dethroned via a controversial split decision after an impressive performance.

Later Strickland posted on X, ‘You know I don’t care about fight politics or a belt but it makes me laugh they give Izzy (Adesanya) a rematch to Alex (Pereira) after getting slept.

‘I lost a close decision that Dana himself thought I won. Everyone did… The stats did. That needs to be run back.’

The fighter went as far as saying the political group he thought were behind his title loss via an X reply.

‘And man, I don’t wanna pull this card but when does the champ ever lose a close fight?’ he wrote. ‘When you’re in Canada with a bunch of dirty f*cking leftist.’

It seems the rematch would never happen, though. Fans are also more excited to see Dricus Du Plessis versus Israel Adesanya.
