Racism: Vinicius Junior cries during interview
Real Madrid player Vinicius Junior cried during a pre-match interview ahead of Brazil’s match with Spain.
This was after he was asked three questions on racism by journalists during the press conference.
‘I’m sorry,’ he said. ‘I just want to play football, do everything for my club and my family and never see black people suffering.’
Fans of the following clubs have racially abused Vinicius Junior: Barcelona, Osasuna, Valencia, and Athletico Madrid. Some of the instances included being told ‘Die, Vinicius!’, being called a chimpanzee by gestures, etc.
It is possible the crying would do little about the racism.
