Court rejects Nigeria’s request for Abba Kyari’s extradition to US.

The Federal Government requested permission to extradite the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari to the United States, but a Federal High Court in Abuja has denied that request (US).

In a ruling issued on Monday, Justice Inyang Ekwo ruled that the extradition request amounted to an abuse of the court system because Kyari was already the subject of a criminal investigation by a Nigerian court.

In connection with his alleged relationship with suspected international fraudster Ramon Abbas, (hushpuppi). The US authorities had requested Kyari’s extradition from Nigeria.

Last Thursday, the Central District of California, Los Angeles, US Attorney’s Office announced that hushpuppi would be sentenced on September 21, 2022.
