D’banj discusses his experience as a security guard in London.
Dapo Oyebanjo, well known by his stage name D’banj, a star in Nigeria, has revealed his rough upbringing. He said that in order to support himself, he had to accept a security job, working twelve-hour shifts every night.
In a conversation with his former labelmate Ikechukwu, a.k.a. Killz, D’banj mentioned that he chose the night shift because he believed he would become a celebrity.
“I know say I be star, na night shift I dey so in the morning, I still dey fresh but of course, I realize say you gat to work,” said D’banj. “At that time, the oyinbos no need to dey check you for CCTV, they know how to monitor you. All they need you to do is click in every ten to fifteen minutes.”
After he and his friend Don Jazzy left for Nigeria. Prior to the closure of the record company after their breakup as business partners, they founded MoHits recordings and signed five musical performers.
