“I was once paid 5k to perform in a show” – Shallipopi recounts his early beginning

Nigerian Afrobeat sensation, Shallipopi has recounted his beginning via his social media platforms.

The singer who swerved emotionally took to his social media platform and recounted his struggles before fame.

According to his disclosure, as a Rapper, he used to go to night concerts to freestyle hoping that prosperous men in the club would spray him money so that he could give it to his mother.

He also disclosed that he was always shushed while performing because he was an upcoming artist then.

He disclosed further his pain sparking heavy reactions among Nigerians.

His words:

“I remember when I used to go out at night just to go freestyle in Benin city clubs, hoping I will get sprayed money so I can go home and give my mummy. I Remember when they always collect mic for my hand if I too perform unto say I be upcoming, I remember when they pay me 5k to perform for uniben.. many things dey wey I remember”
