Junior Pope: AGN lift ban on movie producer, Luke Adanma, approve riverine filming
Movie producer Luke Adanma has finally regained her license to produce movies as AGN lifted the ban placed on her due to her ill-fated movie ‘The Other Side of Life’, which claimed the life of Nollywood actor John Paul Odonwodo, aka Junior Pope, and four others during the production.
Recall that Emeka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), on 11th April, announced that no actor was allowed to work with Luke Adanma as a producer until further notice. Since then, the movie producer has been suspended until today, August 3, 2024.
The (AGN) National Secretary, Abubakar Yakubu, has announced today that the suspension on the producer has been lifted, and the ban on shooting in riverine areas has also been removed. These decisions were made during the guild’s National Executive Council meeting.
The announcement was contained in a statement, and it reads:
“The National President of the Guild, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, MON, use this opportunity to announce the lifting of the suspension placed on Adanma Luke, producer of the movie ‘Another Side of Life,’ where star actor Junior Pope and four other crew members lost their lives in Anam river.
The President also lifted the ban on filming in riverine areas but cautioned members to apply all safety standard measures recommended in the AGN Bylaws.
