Oxlade set to bless one of the hunger protesters with N500K

Nigerian singer Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, popularly known as Oxlade, has asked fans to help him locate a woman who was seen on day one of the hunger protest carrying an empty pot. The singer has promised to give her the sum of five hundred thousand naira N500,000.

On day one of the end-of-bad governance and hunger protest, a picture of a woman carrying an empty pot, which symbolizes a lack of food, went viral.  The attention-catching picture sparked several reactions as she was not just seen with an empty pot but accompanying the post was a small Itel bottom phone and a sachet of alcoholic beverage, which drew a lot of concerns.

Netizens rained criticism on the woman, about how she could afford an alcoholic beverage but couldn’t afford food. Among the notable people who bashed the woman was Reno Amokri, who alleged that the woman was not telling the truth.

In the twist of the event, instead of more criticism, the woman’s luck shunned as Nigerian singer Oxlade took to his X account to announce that he had N500,000 to give her. He wrote, “Someone please help me find this woman, I’ve got 500k for her”
