Soludo signs a revised budget of N170 billion and borrows N100 billion.
Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra has officially signed the N170 billion revised budget into law.
According to Soludo, the budget dubbed “Building off from the Blocks” fell short of the estimated N250 billion needed to create the state’s essential infrastructure.
According to Mr. Christian Aburime, Soludo’s press secretary, who made this announcement in a statement on Friday, the governor praised the Anambra lawmakers for their diligence, accountability, and responsiveness.
There were no shady negotiations involved in signing the budget, according to him; the procedure was carried out with honesty, patriotism, and attentiveness.
Not all of the borrowed money will be used this year; instead, it will be re-fenced and used to create essential infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and other structures.
“There will be utmost caution taken to ensure that the Anambra people receive value for the money borrowed and that every kobo is spent wisely to produce prosperity.
The state salary bill and payroll system are now being cleaned up, according to his administration, he added.
