Super Falcons skip training because of underpaid allowances
Prior to tomorrow’s third-place match against the Copper Queens of Zambia in Morocco for the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Super Falcons players reportedly skipped training yesterday because of unpaid bonuses.
Yesterday, it was reported that “players for the women’s national team did not show up for training to protest the non-payment of some of their benefits.”
Some of the players also acknowledged that since the African Women’s Cup of Nations qualification games, they had not been given any match bonuses.
The team is asking for a bonus of at least $10,000 per player for their performance in the WAFCON in Morocco this year.
Each player will receive $3,000 for winning their group, and according to their agreement with the NFF, they will each receive $4,000 for winning their quarterfinal.
