Rapper, Nicki Minaj has extended her appreciation to legendary rapper and Singer, Lil Wayne for preventing her new album, “Pink Friday” from suffering another change of date for it’s anticipated release.
Recall that Pink Friday 2 was originally supposed to be released on November 17, but Nicki Minaj decided to postpone the release date to December 8, which will also mark her 41st birthday.
The rapper, Val9ja News learns was at a verge of changing the date for a second time as she was billed to perform at 103.5 KISS FM’s Chicago Jingle Ball on Monday (December 4) but had revealed that Lil Wayne will be replacing her.
In a tweet on Sunday (December 3), Nicki wrote:
“Hi guys, I have to tell you something,” she began. “One last thing. Hope it doesn’t make you sad. I won’t be able to perform tmrw in #Chicago for Jingle Ball. I was so excited to see you guys. Pls accept my sincerest apologies. I’ll make it up to you on the Chicago stops of my tour early next year. Details to come.
“HOWEVER!!!!! My beloved brother/boss stepped up for me so that I wouldn’t have to push my album back. His name is Lil Wayne AKA the GOAT. He will perform tmrw @ the Chicago show.”
She added: “I am STILL performing @ the #Atlanta Jingle Ball on the 14th and now I’ll ALSO be performing at the #Miami Jingle Ball on the 16th. Album STILL dropping this FRIDAY.”
Meanwhile, Nicki’s initial album release delay had reportedly avoided an album sales showdown between her and Lil Wayne.
This was as the duo’s collaborative LP with 2 Chainz, Welcome 2 ColleGrove, was due to be released the same day.
Explaining her decision in a viral video, Nicki denied suggestions that Wayne had deliberately invaded her release date and said the delay was due to shipping issues regarding vinyl copies of the album.
Also recall that Nicki had recently shed light on the making of the album stating that she returned to her musical roots.See Dollar(USD) to Naira Black Market Exchange Rate Today!
