Tonto Dikeh reaffirms her support for Tinubu not minding whose ox is gored
Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has reaffirmed her stand in supporting President Tinubu, regardless of who is happy or not with that decision. She urges those who want to unfollow her because of her political stands to go ahead without hesitation.
The actress, who is also into politics, took to her Instagram handle on Thursday, August 1st, to reiterate her unwavering commitment to supporting the current government despite people’s feelings. This comes at the height of the #Endbadgovernment nationwide protests currently ongoing.
Tonto stated that she would never get into the stress of sampling people’s opinions about her political choice and asked those who are not pleased and want to unfollow her to do so. She also asked those who want to block her comment to proceed with the decision, as she doesn’t mind whose ox is gored.
She wrote, “If politics will make you unfollow me, please go ahead. I have no hard feelings; I wouldn’t stop supporting to make this country a great place. One thing i wouldn’t do is stress about what you think of my opinion and of my choices or even block my comment section. God bless you all with love and light, #KINGTONTO.
Tonto Dikeh’s post, however, generated a lot of comments suggesting that most of her followers don’t endorse her view. The post got some criticisms and backlash from Instagram users, who expressed their disapproval in the comment section.
“What’s all this na? Can U just hand over this phone to your manager. Without followers… You are nothing, without FANS even the government will not recognize abeg. That you have enough food in your house, just like I do doesn’t mean you should deny the fact that people are suffering. I do not hate PBAT but I hate the fact that he is using ya’ll to tactical make it look like Nigeria is better in his hands. Stop it, my dear.” an exasperated fan wrote.
Another fan alleged that she was soliciting favour from the government so she could be appointed as SSA.
Recall that in June 2022, Tonto Dikeh was announced as the deputy governorship candidate under the African Democratic Congress in the 2023 Rivers State gubernatorial election but later decamped to the ruling All Progressive Congress. She was formally inducted as a legitimate party member at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
