Kidnapped PDP Chairman regains freedom

The Lagos State Chairman of the People Democratic Party who was abducted across the Ibadan Expressway way has regained freedom after a few days of abduction.

In recent days, Philip Aivoji was abducted alongside his crew at the Ibadan Expressway by unknown gunmen while they were returning from their party’s Stakeholders’ Zonal Caucus meeting convened by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, held in Ibadan, the state capital.

He was held hostage for a few days after what seemed to be an eternity of abduction before regaining freedom on Thursday after the Police Department rescue parole.

The good news was announced by the State Publicity Secretary, Hakeem Amode via a statement that has gone viral.

The statement:

“Lagos State PDP Chairman released by the kidnappers.”

“Hon Philip Olabode Aivoji the Lagos State PDP Chairman is free at last after 4days in the kidnappers’ den.”

“We use this opportunity to appreciate your prayers most importantly because God’s mercy was visible all the way.”

“Thank you all for your concerns and prayers.”

“Yes, he has been released in the early hours of today, but I don’t have information on the payment of any ransom.”

However, the Nigerian Police Department announced that they embarked on a rescue patrol which claimed the life of one but they were able to rescue 9 people held hostage.
