Tinubu sanitizes public leadership offices, sacks FRCN, NBC, VON bosses, names new NAN MD
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of eight new Chief Executive Officers for Parastatals and Agencies under the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation with immediate effect.
In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale on Thursday and titled ‘President Tinubu appoints new leadership across the information and national orientation sectors,’ the President made the disclosure 24 hours after a closed-door meeting with the Information Minister, Mohammed Idris, at the State House, Abuja on Thursday.
According to the statement, the new appointees include officials for the National Orientation Agency, the Nigerian Television Authority, the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, National Broadcasting Commission, Voice of Nigeria, Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, News Agency of Nigeria and the Nigerian Press Council.
They include Mr Lanre Issa-Onilu as Director-General of the NOA, Mr Salihu Dembos retained his office as DG of NTA, Dr. Muhammed Bulama as DG FRCN, replacing Dr Mansir Liman.
Mr. Charles Ebuebu replaces Balarabe Illelah as Director-General of the NBC, Mr. Jibrin Ndace as DG of the VON, replacing Osita Okechukwu.
The President also appointed Dr Lekan Fadolapo as the Director-General of ARCON, Mr. Ali Ali as DG NAN and Mr. Dili Ezughah as Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Press Council.
The President tasked the newly entrusted leadership in these sub-sectors to “innovate and create new opportunities for Nigerians to leverage upon through the effective reform of these key institutions of government which function” to unify Nigerians, reshape mindsets, and showcase the nation to the rest of the world.
President Tinubu’s appointments however, comes two days after the Benue State Governor, Reverend Father Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia made fresh appointments of heads of parastatals and agencies in the state.
Rev. Fr. Governor Alia had on Tuesday, released another list of appointees to spearhead various parastatals and agencies in the state including the state-owned radio station, Radio Benue Makurdi, where he announced the appointment of a freshly retired staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Terseer Mzuulga as the new Director General.
This was contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Tersoo Kula on Tuesday.
According to the statement, those appointed include:

8. Linda Ene Agada – SSA on Township Beautification III
9. Dorcas Faerem Mbatiav – SSA on Township Beautification II
10. Member Achihi Dekera – SSA on Township Beautification I
11. Hon. Moses Mkeenem – SSA on Youth Mobilization & Empowerment
12. Hon. Gwaza Ujamatyu – SSA on LG & Chieftaincy Affairs
