Trump announces his presidential run in 2024.

In 2024, he plans to run for president again, despite requests from influential party donors and officials for the GOP to do otherwise in the wake of this week’s disastrous midterm election results.

Trump, who is the first significant candidate from either party to publicly declare, did so ahead of a speech on Tuesday night before hundreds of his fans gathered in the opulent ballroom at his Mar-a-Lago property in Palm Beach, Florida.

23 minutes prior to the commencement of his announcement speech, he submitted paperwork with the Federal Election Commission designating his campaign committee as the organization responsible for raising money.

Trump addressed hundreds of supporters in a ballroom adorned with numerous chandeliers and dozens of American flags during a speech that was live-broadcast on American television.

“In order to make America great again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for President of the United States,” Trump said to a cheering phone-waving crowd of donors and longtime supporters. “America’s comeback starts right now.”

“Two years ago, we were a great nation and soon we will be a great nation again,” he said.

Instead of using the slurs that have characterized prior public appearances, Trump chose to criticize Joe Biden’s administration and evaluate the accomplishments he claimed to have made with regard to policy during his own administration.

The former president outlined well-known gloomy themes from his playbook, criticizing migrants and calling American cities “cesspools of blood” as a result of a crime epidemic.

He pledged to support the death sentence for drug traffickers, term limits for legislators, and the rehiring of military personnel who had been discharged for refusing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.

Despite criticizing the U.S. electoral system, he did not mention the attack on the U.S. Capitol by his supporters on January 6, 2021, or his exaggerated accusations of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election.
