World Richest Man Elon Musk is Set to Buy Twitter.

As has been his pattern, Musk made the startling U-turn in a letter to Twitter, which the business revealed in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday. It happened fewer than two weeks before the commencement of the two parties’ Delaware trial.

Elon Musk, the erratic CEO of Tesla, made a proposal to purchase Twitter on Tuesday for the initially agreed-upon $44 billion price, bringing the turbulent narrative of his on-again, off-again acquisition of the firm to a close.

In response, Twitter stated that after receiving the letter from Elon Musk, it plans to finalize the deal at $54.20 per share. The business did not, however, state that it was withdrawing its case against the multibillionaire CEO of Tesla. Given the tense relationship and lack of trust between the two sides, experts said that makes sense.

The world’s richest man and one of the most powerful social media sites are involved in a high-profile saga, and Musk’s proposal is the most recent development. The most of the turmoil has been on Twitter, where Elon Musk, who has more than 100 million followers, has complained that the network is not living up to its potential as a place for free expression and that there are too many trolls.

Elon Musk may take over Twitter in a matter of days, depending on how long it takes him and his co-investors to secure the funding, according to Ann Lipton, an associate law professor at Tulane University.

Twitter is largely in the same position it was in April, she added, “but the transaction will relieve some of the short-term uncertainties within the firm.” What Elon Musk plans to do with Twitter and the future of a business whose owner has wavered in his pledge to acquire it are both still very much in question. And if this drama has taught us anything, it’s that Musk is erratic and that it’s not finished yet.
