Andre Ward offers late advice to Errol Spence Jr. ahead of bout

Former two-weight champion Andre Ward dropped an advice for Errol Spence concerning a rematch with Terence Crawford. However, the advice seems to be a late one.

Spence saw an unsavoury faceoff with Crawford and was floored in its ninth round. Because there was a rematch clause in the fight agreement, Spence has the freedom to ask for a rerun.

There were naturally different opinions on whether Spence should ask for an immediate rematch or give himself time for recuperation and upgrade.

Andre Ward gave his own view while speaking to Stephen A. Smith recently.

‘I wouldn’t like to see it,’ revealed Ward. ‘From a competitor’s standpoint, I know Errol’s gonna wanna get that back, but he don’t need to get back in the ring. I wouldn’t recommend that.’

Errol Spence has already activated the rematch clause, though a date is yet to be set.

Ward admired Crawford’s performance during the bout.

‘He’s the truth, he’s not going to shy away in a big moment, he’s going to rise,’ Crawford said. ‘You saw a fighter that could box, you saw a fighter that was poised then you saw that finishing ability where it was time to finish Spence. I love both guys but somebody gotta win, somebody gotta lose.’
