Boxing: Wayne Rooney would beat Jake Paul at Old Trafford says Eddie Hearn
Matchroom Sports’ Eddie Hearn said that a boxing bout between former Manchester United player Wayne Rooney and crossover fighter Jake Paul would see the former emerge the victor.
It was leaked in the past that Rooney whom Hearn alleged had been a boxer discussed with Misfits Boxing, but fans are yet to know whether the Englishman is looking to earn by fighting.
Speaking to DAZN recently, Hearn said the following:
‘I’ve spoken to Wayne about it before. He used to box, he was an amateur, he knows how to look after himself. I think he’ll stick to football right now but never say never.
‘I think he would like to have a go, I know Kalle and Misfits have reached out to him. I don’t think we’ll see it just yet but I wouldn’t rule it out for the future.
‘I’ve said before, Wayne Rooney against Jake Paul at Old Trafford is a huge event, and I back Wayne Rooney to win it.’
YouTuber turned crossover fighter Jake Paul who is en route to becoming a full-fledged pro boxer is preparing to face Ryan Bourland in the ring. The fight will be among baby steps Paul is taking towards meeting with the big boys of boxing.
Rooney whose coaching career is currently struggling could decide to switch focus.
