Canelo Alvarez versus David Benavidez: ‘Why are you demanding you get 150-200 million to fight someone who isn’t worth anything?’
David Benavidez dropped a reply to Canelo Alvarez who would not fight him save for 150-200 million USD.
Both men would have met in the ring if not for Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez’ request for a big payday. However, fans have started to see Alvarez as the reason the interesting fight is taking long to happen.
In a recent Instagram post, Benavidez replied to Alvarez’s big request and insult as the back and forth continues.
‘@canelo if I have nothing to offer then why are you demanding you get 150-200 million to fight someone who isn’t worth anything?’ Benavidez wrote. ‘Hopefully after you make that 150 million you have enough left over to buy a pair of nuts.’
Canelo Alvarez had said to CBS Sports, ‘Benavidez] brings nothing to the table for me. He brings just 25 pounds more on that night. That’s it. It’s not him because he has nothing to offer me, anything. I’m the one.
‘But if one promoter who I work with comes and offers me $150 million to $200 million, I’ll fight tomorrow. That’s the only reason I would fight with him because the only thing he brings to the table is 25 pounds.’
It actually seems the fight would be delayed further, since Benavidez is planning to fight another boxer.
