Both men keep making headlines after Carl Froch argued that Tyson Fury’s resumé was not impressive. John Fury might have disliked hearing that about his only son whom he had named after the legendary Mike Tyson.

Their unfriendly exchange reached a point where Big John proposed a match with The Cobra. Froch who is 46 is in much better condition than 59-year-old John.

Via a YouTube video, Froch said the following to John Fury:

‘The Cobra’s still in outrageous, chiselled shape. If you were stood across the ring from me with 10oz gloves on it wouldn’t last very long.

‘And if you’re talking about kicking me up the a**e and giving me a slap when you see me, that’s a totally different story. That’s a roll around on the cobbles, and trust me you don’t want to go there with me.’

‘[Wembley] is not gonna happen John. Misfits are talking about maybe something happening, if that’s got any legs we’ll have to speak to Kalle Sauerland, but if any kind of fight was gonna materialise for me and you, it wouldn’t be for financial gain.

‘I’m sorry to burst your bubble. There’s no money to be had. If this stupidity becomes real because of the Misfits scene … I’d be doing it for charity.’

Froch added that the old man should fight Miky Theo or Joe Egan of Misfits Boxing, and then they would fight.

John Fury’s first proposition was released by freebets.com. In it John had said the following:

‘Video to Carl The Snake Froch. You’re having plenty to say mate on your podcast channel. John Fury’s rung the bell for you again, got you plenty of content, plenty of viewing figures that you were after. Listen, your mate George Groves said something very interesting.

‘You and me, Wembley Stadium, 93,000 crowd. I’m up for that my friend. You’ve had plenty to say. I have. I stand by every word that I’ve said. You don’t like me. Let’s see what you can do what about it. Hater versus Top Father – that’s what we’ll call this. But, it’s got to make business sense. Get your people to contact me directly … I will fight you, Wembley Stadium, this year.’
