Jake Paul leaks private chat with Sean Strickland, says he ducked
YouTuber turned pro boxer Jake Paul leaked his correspondence with former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland, and accused him of dodging an opportunity to spar with him.
Paul who knew about how Strickland beat up an influencer called Sneako during sparring challenged the champion, promising to pay him one million dollars for the opportunity.
Strickland who beat Israel Adesanya for the UFC middleweight title, and recently lost it to Dricus Du Plessis, allegedly declined out of fear of getting sued by the UFC.
This excuse looked deceptive to Paul as he recalled that the former champion once gave another influencer the opportunity to spar with him.
During one of Paul’s podcasts, he said:
‘I’ve got DMs, I’ll put the DMs up on the screen. I said ‘I’ll send you the PJ, let me know where, we could spar for a million dollars, and then all of a sudden, it’s ‘Oh, I would get sued by the UFC if I sparred Jake.’ But you just sparred Sneako, you could spar anyone.
‘Contractually, in your UFC contract it has nothing to do- it says nothing about sparring. So you spar an influencer, but then all of a sudden when I challenge you and want to send you a private jet, he’s making up excuses, saying he’s gonna, you know, get sued by people.’
If Paul was correct in saying that nothing in Strickland’s contract with the UFC stopped the UFC middleweight contender from sparring with him, then fans can safely assume that Strickland ducked the sparring session.
