Joshua Buatsi hunts for opponent ahead of undisputed light-heavyweight bout
Joshua Buatsi does not want to wait for the undisputed light-heavyweight title fight between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol. Instead, the Brit is looking for an opponent, according to his statement.
Having dominated Dan Azeez last Saturday to achieve a noteworthy victory after being away for a long time, Buatsi who holds the top-third position with all the four sanctioning organisations increased his unbeaten streak to eighteen.
While speaking to Boxing King Media recently, the pugilist laid out his plan as he awaits the winner of the Beterbiev-Bivol bout:
‘That felt like a big fight [against Azeez], it was nice to be in that. I want another one and I feel like you’re leaning towards the Anthony Yarde question, so I’ll get it out there.
‘If the unification for the undisputed belt is in June, of course I would like to be active, I am not going to sit down and wait.
‘They might even do a rematch to make it clear, so I am open and available to fight Yarde, it’s something that I said I want to happen this year so I am more than happy for that [to happen].’
Some think that a bout between the two would be an interesting sight and make a very entertaining night.
